The Preacher’s Dilemma

What’s a preacher to preach? As anyone who has accepted the call to preach the Word, you must remember that what we preach is Truth.

Preaching or sharing the word is sometimes a tricky task that is dealt with on a weekly basis by so many faithful servants of God. When preachers gather at a conference or with other colleagues, inevitably the conversation comes up about some of the horror stories of things that happen within our churches. The greatest horror comes when we preach a truth that nobody wants to hear. As Christian pastors we should be telling the stories of Jesus and how he taught us how to live in the world today. Churches get a bad reputation of being too soft when we are teaching love, compassion, respect, forgiveness, mercy, and acceptance. Jesus came into the world, not to condemn, but to offer hope to a broken world. May we be more Christ like as we live out the gospel message as we journey through life.
